No offense, but I never want to see you again

That's what I like to tell hospital nurses. Today the nurse returned the favor and told me she never wants to see me again either. That's what I'm talkin' about. And she said all the right things you're supposed to say to someone who's hopeful but feels worried and overwhelmed. (See previous post about the stupid comments list.) Sometimes it's the little things that make a big difference.

I'm waiting with Liz at the hospital for her liver biopsy. Hopefully the last test to check off before starting treatment next week. The BCC (breast cancer coordinator) just called and FINALLY delivered good news: the brain MRI late last night was negative! So...no cancer in her beautiful smart brain. It stinks that we had to test for it. And it's dumb that I had to tell you that it was a possibility. But it's awesome that we at least don't need to worry about that.

She wheeled off to the procedure a few minutes ago. I'm hanging out in the waiting room, watching Judge Judy, and enjoying my lunch of saltines and water. And I just heard from the BCC again: yesterday's echocardiogram was normal, and the ejection fraction is good for Liz to start chemo. Her heart is strong.

She told me last night: "I can do hard things." She has, and she can.

    You guys keep me laughing through this --- inspiring!!!!! You guys have done hard things and you can keep at it! Good job making it through this week! Those three boys are the sweetest things to fight for---you fought for them to be with you now and now you will fight to stay with them and you will win just as before! Go team LIZ!!!!

    You guys are raking up more victories everyday and Aaron... great job with the nurses - keep that up! :) Love the pics... and that fighting spirit you both have is just contagious. Give Liz a big hug for me. :)
